Consultation
One-on-one consultation helps you develop the most effective
strengths-based arts mentoring program possible.
Whether delivered on site (yours or ours) or through internet and telephone, consultation is completely tailored to your needs, utilizing peer mentoring / modeling to ensure your success. Suitable for an individual teacher or an organization, it’s hands-on and experiential, and can range from basic program design to in-depth organizational facets such as:
- Assessing your organization’s existing culture, including identifying strengths and potential obstacles, (such as resistance to the new initiative) and developing strategies for building on strengths and minimizing challenges
- Designing program architecture for initiative
- Designing unified agenda, with an in-depth process for inclusion of group in decision making
- Developing infrastructure, including communications pathways and organization-specific forms
- Ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies
- Staff education and training to create understanding and buy-in
- Developing program support within the organization
- Ensuring inclusion of arts programming in therapeutic treatment plan, if appropriate
- Identifying staff’s artistic strengths
- Hiring teachers
- Identifying students
- Use of volunteers
Teaching program managers and directors who complete the consultation and training process may become Certified Merge Mentor Teachers.
