Consultation

One-on-one consultation helps you develop the most effective
strengths-based arts mentoring program possible.

Whether delivered on site (yours or ours) or through internet and telephone, consultation is completely tailored to your needs, utilizing peer mentoring / modeling to ensure your success.  Suitable for an individual teacher or an organization, it’s hands-on and experiential, and can range from basic program design to in-depth organizational facets such as:

  • Assessing your organization’s existing culture, including identifying strengths  and potential obstacles, (such as resistance to the new initiative) and developing strategies for building on strengths and minimizing challenges
  • Designing program architecture for initiative
  • Designing unified agenda, with an in-depth process for inclusion of group in decision making
  • Developing infrastructure, including  communications pathways and organization-specific forms
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies
  • Staff education and training to create understanding and buy-in
  • Developing program support within the organization
  • Ensuring inclusion of arts programming in therapeutic treatment plan, if appropriate
  • Identifying staff’s artistic strengths
  • Hiring teachers
  • Identifying students
  • Use of volunteers

Teaching program managers and directors who complete the consultation and training process may become Certified Merge Mentor Teachers.
